Board of Trustees of Firefighters' Pension Fund (FPF)

The Trustees of the FPF hold fiduciary responsibilities for the legal and equitable operations of the Firefighter’s Pension Fund. The statutory reference for this board is 40 ILCS 5/4, as amended. The FPF consists of 5 members: 2 members are appointed by the Village President; 2 members must be active full-time firefighters; and 1 member must be a retiree of the pension fund. Since the Village does not have any full-time firefighters, except for the Fire Chief, nor does it have any retired pensioners, the current composition consists of 3 members. However, while 3 members is a quorum for conducting business, all votes must be unanimous for approval since a majority vote of a 5-member board is 3. The Village Treasurer serves as the treasurer for the FPF. Members of the FPF serve 3-year terms.
